Rajasthan is the largest state of India and its capital Jaipur was established by Sawai Raja Jai Singh in 1827. This city was named Jaipur after Raja Jai Singh. It is also known as the Pink City. Why is it called the Pink City? Let us know there is a very interesting story behind it. At that time the king here was Sawai Maharaja Ram Singh II. This king was very skilled in hospitality. In 1876, Queen Victoria's son Prince Albert Edward Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (Prince of Wales) came to India and Raja Ram Singh II got the entire Jaipur painted with pink terracotta to welcome Prince Albert. Jaipur looked very beautiful due to being painted in pink color. This was a wonderful welcome for Prince Albert.

To impress the Prince with Albert Hall and to build strong relations with the British, Maharaj Ram Singh organized a grand music hall to welcome the Prince and named it Albert Hall in honor of the Prince (nowadays it is installed in Albert Hall Museum). This is the oldest museum of Rajasthan, which is an excellent example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Inside it, it is decorated with a treasure of various types of jewelry, crystal statues and paintings, seeing which Prince Albert was very impressed. Maharaj Ram Singh had adopted the pink color of Jaipur in such a way that the Prince was impressed by the unique pink beauty of Jaipur and he said while enhancing the beauty of Jaipur that the pink city is amazing. Since then it was named Pink Nagar. From that time onwards, all the houses of Jaipur are also adopted in pink color. In the year 1877, a law was passed to paint all the houses, warehouses and buildings of Jaipur with pink color from the possession of the king's wife. Time has changed but since then the people of Jaipur are following this law.  If you ever get a chance to visit Jaipur, you will see that even today every wall, house, lane, and door of the lane is painted pink. If you are new then the first thing you will see is pink color everywhere. If you look carefully, you will also see some historical pink and brown shades of Jaipur. It is a unique and pleasant experience to roam in the valleys of Jaipur along with the early principles of the medieval city.
